As the semester is closing in, motivation is ultra low. Now this is a new low considering that this is an end of a school year. Everyone is itching to do something other than school or just to get a break. This being my first year there were lots of lessons to learn. However, there was something that one of my acquaintances had posted on facebook. It read as such:
in college you have 3 choices: good grades, a social life, or adequate amounts of sleep the catch is you only get to choose 2
I have never realized this until this freshman year. Many people commented. Most people chose the latter two, while a a few chose the first two. Then there were those who fractioned up the choices like 3/4 of a social life and decent grades and some sleep.
I came to college thinking that college was not going to be like high school. Well, I was partially right. It is true that you are more independent and free, but there are times where you are incredibly stupid. With freedom comes responsibility blah blah blah. Everyone knows this, but no one wants the responsibility. I know I don’t. Also, there are still cliques and such in college. Those don’t ever go away. People do still care how you look to some extent and there is still nit picky drama. Some people haven’t matured just yet and others are stick-in-the-muds. Long story short there is still a long way to go. College is the new high school. (College is more or less required to get a good paying job now meaning that you’re paying for a requirement instead of a privilege or promotion for lack of better words). This is such a small portion of life that has one of the biggest impacts. It’s easy to jump off the train, but hard to get back on. So when you board, go until the tracks stop because there is no turning back.
