Yes. Love does win.

Yes, I am fantastically happy that love prevailed today, but I am also reminded that there is still much to do. For trans people and trans people of color, women, women of color and men of color etc. there is still more to do to clean the systemic prejudice and hatred from our schools, government, and institutions. Obama alluded to much of how I felt during Sen. Pickney’s eulogy (which was bomb!).

Side note: I have my hesitations about the black church but watching it on public television gave me sense off pride that I was raised in a black church. There is so much tradition, history and culture associated and engrained within the church. It’s more than a center of faith. It’s a pillar of history. Beliefs aside, what I saw today was absolutely great. The United States’ first black president spoke at a historically black church and PREACHED. This is black history. It’s coming back! The pride and strength is slowly regaining momentum.

So, yes, happy pride weekend. Love has prevailed, but stay woke! Relish this day in history. Smile

PPS: Clarence Thomas sucks.
