Happy Black History Month!

Alright, so it’s Frebruary and Stacey Dash along with the rest of the country has given their two cents on this month that wasn’t really controversial (loosely stated) until we decided that racism isn’t really over. So this month, I will try my bestest to give you one month of appreciating my unique blackness because *spoiler* not everyone’s blackness is the same. So here it goes!

Day 1

I am going to appreciate my blackness today starting with the versatility my black hair. Black women love to talk about their hair. It is always going to be mentioned whether you’re around black women or black men, old and young, so deal with it. We can have it straight, curly, kinky, coily, short, long, dreaded, puffed, picked out, twisted, etc without adding someone else’s hair or with! It can be bad all by itself. Thank you DNA for never making me bored of hair and for blessing me with a family who loves it as much as I do. *pumps fist*
