Never go to the grocery store hungry. NEVER. I have been buying every meal over the past week due to finals and going out with friends and that hits the bank HARD. So, in an attempt to save some green I bought some. I love Brussels sprouts, kale and spinach and stocked up! I also have been craving pho, Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food so I made my way to get some noodles since I LOVE noodles.
But it is also Christmas so I just HAD to get some egg nog. Recently I picked up soy egg nog from a grocery store down the street and ended up in love! So you can expect my dismay when all they had at HEB was coconut milk egg nog. Well, let me tell ya, this stuff does not disappoint. I missed nothing from the regular egg nog (especially all those extra calories). I promptly went home and made gingerbread cookies and drank egg nog with my roommate as our tree shone bright!
Now, the this morning I was getting worried considering I bought a substantial amount of veggies which go bad after awhile and was leaving for Kingwood (my hometown) in a week. So, like a weirdo I made Brussels sprouts with my brunch. It was very tasty and I did not regret it one bit! It is also healthier than those breakfast sandwiches from Whataburger and McDonald’s. Cooking at home no doubt saves you on uncessary calories and money. Also, scrambling/whipping your eggs with half & half makes them all kinds of fluffy. Who woulda thunk!?
